Our house in Cumbria will again be available for LONG TERM house swaps late May through to September in '23 Please note that we are only looking for LONG TERM swaps. We prefer periods of 6 weeks or more. Swaps will need to be NON SIMULTANEOUS or use GPs. If you want a stay longer than the number of Guest Points you have allows, please talk to us. We may be happy for you to stay longer, if for instance, you were prepared to mow the lawns and look after the garden. Note that our GP rate per night is specifically for long term swaps. We could earn much more if we did short term swaps in this very popular holiday area. Our house in Cumbria is a converted mill next to the River Crake. The Crake runs out of Coniston Water and we are about 2 miles below the lake. There is a large garden to the front, side and rear, with river frontage. Private drive with lots of parking and double garage. Lounge with sun lounge extension overlooking the garden and river. Integrated kitchen and dining room, study/office, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and utility room. Most rooms on the large side. House is on a slope with main entrance into the first floor where there is the lounge, main bedroom, bathroom and study/office. Downstairs there is the large kitchen/dining room, bathroom, bedroom and utility area. There are wood burning stoves in the lounge and kitchen, with a large wood store with lots of nice dry wood. We use these for most of our heating, but there is oil central heating as well. After previous experience we are not keen on having guests with children. Sorry.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

The house is in the Lake District National Park, in some beautiful countryside. Being away from the main tourist areas of the central Lakes it is nice and peaceful. We have lived here for 30 years. In our opinion the Lake District is the best that England has to offer. Anyone who may be interested in this opportunity will already know about Cumbria and the Lake District which was designated as a 'World Heritage Site' in July 2017. There is excellent walking and cycling from the house and all of the fabulous Lake District just a short drive away. There is a quiet rural pub just 50meters from the door. Ulverston, our nearest town is 7 miles to the south. Coniston Lake is 2 miles away.
